An invitation to dig deep . . .

This 8-week course calls participants in to discuss, explore, share connections, and cultivate a deep and somatic awareness of whiteness and its impact on their own lives and the lives of those around them. This course will invite participants dig deep into long-held patterns and assumptions and to begin the work of loosening and shifting the behaviors that stem from them. Whether you’re just beginning your journey understanding yourself as a racial being or whether this course is another step on that already-years-long path, Anne and Cal will create an experience that will inspire you to ask usefully unsettling questions about how and why inequity persists.

Course Dates

This course meets on Tuesday from 4-6pm Eastern for eight (8) weeks, from February 6 - March 26, 2024.

The course will meet virtually via Zoom.

Instructor & Executive Director Cal Cates

Cal has been teaching and developing curriculum for massage therapy courses focused on hospital-based practice, oncology massage and end of life care since 2007. Their experience in clinical practice in hospitals around the US has informed their teaching style greatly. Cal is clear that massage therapy is healthcare and feels a personal commitment to inviting students to consider themselves as integral to a whole person healing process. Their favorite thing about teaching healthcare providers is the ability to blend nerdiness and authenticity to create opportunities to be more effective, more human and more flexible.
